GotSoccer Instructions

  • Enrolling Teams to Metroplex Soccer Alliance League

Once the current season league has been set up, associations will need to enroll their teams. Here are the instructions on how to get your teams entered into the league . These instructions should be completed by someone in the association that has Full Access like the Registrar or Association President.

    1. Log into your Association GotSoccer Account at https://www.gotsport.com/asp/directors/login.asp

    2. Click on the following application link to enroll your club in the league: Enroll Here (click "Apply to Metroplex Fall 2017" then click "Join League"

    3. Go to your Association GotSoccer Account again. Click on "Home Association" and then "Teams". Under Filters, select Page Size = 100 and then "Apply Filters". This way all your teams should be showing on one page.

    4. Under the drop down "Enter Teams in an in-house League, Training Program, or other associated event" choose "Metroplex Fall 2017" and click SELECT. It will now show teams NOT entered in Metroplex Fall 2017

    5. Place a check next to all of the teams you want to enter into the Metroplex League and click ENTER SELECTED TEAMS. Your teams are now entered into the league.

Important Notes of things to do BEFORE your enter your teams into the league:

    - Make sure coaches are assigned to each team and that they have phone numbers attached to their profiles.

    - Team names must have the same format across the league. The proper format is TEAM NAME and TEAM YEAR. For example, if your team is called the Blue Devils and they are wanting to play in the U10 age group, then they would be BLUE DEVILS 03.  The City or Association name does not need to be included in the team name. GotSoccer will automatically add this and it will be listed twice if you put it in there. CROWLEY BLUE DEVILS 03 is incorrect. BLUE DEVILS 03 is correct. When listed on the schedule, GotSoccer will add CROWLEY to make it show CROWLEY BLUE DEVILS 03.

    - Make sure each team has a team ID.

    - If the team is playing up to another age group, send an email to info@metroplexsoccer.org to make sure the team gets put in the right age division.

  • Setting Preferred Divisions for Teams

In accordance with Metroplex Soccer Alliance Bylaws and Playing Rules Section 26.2

26.2 Prior to the division meeting, each Home Association will rank their teams according to ability of the team and coach. Each member association and the MSA Secretary-Treasurer will also provide the following information about each team:

              a) if the team core has returned meaning more than 50% of the players returned to the team
              b) is the coach a new or returning coach
              c) the team's previous division
              d) the team's previous record and placement
              e) any other pertinent information that may factor in the team's division placement

    1. Log into your Association GotSoccer Account at https://www.gotsport.com/asp/directors/login.asp

    2. Click on "Home Assoc" and then "Teams"

    3. Under Filters, Filter by Upcoming Event, Choose "Metroplex Fall 2015" and click apply filters. You should now only see teams that registered for Metroplex Fall 2015

    4. Under the "Applications" column, click view for the team you want to look at

    5. Click on "Metroplex Fall 2015"

    6. Under "Preferred Division" select the appropriate choice then click "Save"

  • Printing Game Cards

Here is the easiest way to print game cards in bulk. Try to do this on the day before so the latest team names, rosters, and time/field/location are up to date. If associations add players on Thursday (and notify me) and you printed game cards on Wednesday, the player will not show up on the game day roster (* see note at the end of this email).

    1. Log into the Metroplex/user GotSoccer account at http://www.gotsport.com/asp/directors (Contact MSA for password)

    2. Click on "League" from the main menu tabs

    3. Click on "Metroplex Fall/Spring 20XX" from the options on the screen under Next 5 Scheduled Leagues

    4. Click on "Export"

    5. Now choose the date you want to print, the fields you want to print, (All) flights, (All) teams - (Hold Ctrl+click to select multiple items)

    6. Under Other Options, make sure you have checked One game card per page and Calculate/show player suspensions.

    7. Click the download button. This may take a several seconds to download as a PDF on your computer. Print the game cards on your printer and have them ready to hand out to the referees on Game Day.

    8. At the end of the day, make sure you have all of the game cards collected and scores are clearly recorded on the them. Scan them and send them to Metroplex Soccer using the online form found at http://www.metroplexsoccer.org/forms - please place any game cards that have misconduct on them (yellow or red) on top so proper credit can be given to the players and coaches. You can also submit Misconduct Reports for red cards at http://www.metroplexsoccer.org/forms

    9. If your association chooses to enter in the score for the coaches, please have that done within 48 hours. If your association is making the coaches report the scores, the same rule applies, however the associations will be the getting the emails from Metroplex Soccer, not the coaches.

    * Note - if this happens - referees would need to get a local board member to clear the player to play and referees would have to note it on the game report. Referees cannot clear players to play. Board members can try to call the registrar of the association or me to see if a player has been properly registered. Mistakes happen and if the board member cannot get a hold of anyone to clear the player, they may clear the player to play after documenting everything about this player in their own notes. This way, if the player is indeed an unregistered player (not likely) then the League A&D Chairman may take action from there.

99% of the time, the player was not properly added to the roster by the home association or they failed to notify me that they were adding a player to a team after league rosters have been frozen (or I was just too busy to unfreeze the roster and add the player before game cards were printed). This is not the player's fault and he/she should not be penalized. In any case, the coach and player would have to be crazy to force the issue with a player they know isn't supposed to be playing.
